I mentioned in my last post that I was waiting for the go ahead to share the cross stitch project I spent the start of the summer working on. Well, I got the green light so here it is!
This is a cross stitch replica of the 'blue album' cover by the band Weezer. Stitched to the same size as a vinyl sleeve :-) just over 12" square.| Fabric - 28ct Trento in Sky from Zweigart Threads - DMC cotton floss Stitched with two over two |
Uh oh!
Enter Matt's friend, Jamie-Mr X Stitch-Chalmers, who created the cross stitch chart and found a willing stitcher, me.
| so many colour changes! there are nine in the letter r. NINE! |
Fast forward two and a half weeks of frantic stitching, countless cans of coke zero, hours of Tour de France viewing and it was all done and dusted :-)
This piece just about killed me with all the colour changes and confetti stitches, it's by far the most time consuming and challenging piece I have ever stitched (how do all you HAED people do it!?!), but I'm so pleased with it. It was quite hard packaging it all up to send to Matt! LOL!
It's off at the framers at the moment, getting ready for the big reveal! So exciting! I can't wait to hear what the lucky lady thinks of it :-)
Here it is cropped to match the album cover.
So that's what has been keeping my hands busy so far this summer, I'll be back at my machine next week for my BQS mini.
If I can drag my eyeballs away from the olympics and my bum away from the sofa that is!
Sadie xx
