Happy shopper

July has absolutely flown by hasn't it! It's been a bit of an up and down month for me. I started out at the beginning of the month with lots of plans, and I was really excited  :-)  but then things kind of got a bit stressful and overwhelming  :-(  I realised that I had taken on a bit too much and it wasn't feeling so fun any more. A bit of re-evaluating and I decided to put a few things on hold and happiness and balance was restored :-) and I can end the month with a smile on my face.
As a result I don't have much to share for Fresh Sewing Day today.

I made this shopping bag right at the start of the month with the intention of entering it into our local county show. The county show was one of the things I put on hold, so the bag has now been put to use and is my favourite shopping bag. It holds so much!
I've had a few people comment on it when I've been out shopping and they have asked where I got it from. It feels so cool to be able to say "I made it!"  :-D

I have completed one other project this month, a large cross stitch piece which I stitched on behalf of someone else. I can't wait to share it with you all, but it's a gift so I need to wait for the all clear so as not to spoil the surprise!

The only plan for August is to make my mini quilt for the BQS3 swap. Lesson learned, no big plans  :-)

  7. I'm in exactly the same boat as you were - feeling overwhelmed and too much going on. Glad you are feeling better! Oh, as I was reading your post at work (shhh) my co-worker walked by and said 'wow that is a great bag' - so there you go...a stranger here in Canada likes it too!
