Pinch punch ....

...first of the month  :-) and time to link up with Lynne over at Lily's Quilts for fresh sewing day  :-)
This month has seen nearly all my sewing time taken up with gift for others.  I don't mind at all  :-)  I love giving handmade presents, and thankfully my family love to receive them. Either that or they are resigned to getting my makes and are just humouring me! LOL

Last night at ten o'clock I sat down at my machine and I made something for me  :-)  Just a little something, but it still counts.
I made myself a little card holder, following this tutorial.

I love the purse I have right now, but it doesn't have room for all my cards (bank cards, library card, shop loyalty cards etc) so I'm going to just keep my bank cards in it and transfer all my others to this card holder.
I used some lovely, cheerful Terrain for the main fabric and a bright orange pezzy print for the accent fabric. I toyed with the idea of putting some kind of closure on it, but it will be in a small side pocket in the inside of my handbag, so I don't think there will be a problem with the cards falling out.

This month I also altered some curtains for a neighbour and worked a tiny bit more on my HUG cushion, but no pics of those.

The kids have only three days left at school, so we'll have to settle into a new routine, which will hopefully still include some sewing time, we'll see  :-)

  11. Wow, you're obviously very talented. Way to go!! (I cross stitch, and enjoy it, but I can't sew worth a darn, and I don't enjoy trying, lol.) I love the cushion you made for your mom, especially. It's lovely.
