Cat fight

I was sitting in the kitchen this morning, sewing my latest SBS block and also making some jam (Susan!) when I heard a whole lot of angry cat noises coming from the garden. I looked out the window and saw this.
The grey cat in the foreground is our cat Travis, obviously defending the boundaries of our (his) garden. His foe is UFC (Unknown Fat Cat) They stayed like this for ages, long enough for me to go and get the camera and take pictures, all the while making very unpleasant noises at each other.
Then I went outside.
And got the evil eye from UFC, who then slunk off, still giving me the evil eye!
I gave Travis lots of fuss and some cat treats for doing such a great job of defending our little kingdom from UFC.

Drama over, or so I thought, it was back to the sewing. This is Ohio Star.
This block was going really well until I got to the last corner (the top right in the pic above) I've had that corner in and out and in and out and in and out, so many times, and it's still not right. Then I noticed that the eyelets on the lighter purple triangles were all pointing in the same direction, apart from two! Can you see how they all go up and down, but two of them go sideways. Not what I was aiming for at all!
I think I will remake this block, but not today. I need a break from it or I might just end up chucking it on the fire!
Instead I am going to concentrate on my jam (Susan!) and see if I can steel myself to tackle the ironing :-)

Oh golly, what good fun reading your story about UFC....if I were to get into a fight defending my territory, I'd be known as the UFW (unknown fat woman) :)))))
LOL!

Hurray for Travis! I hate the noise cats make when they're having a stand-off, makes my tummy flip and flop! UFC is huge - looks like a black and white version of 'Six Dinner Sid'!

It is against the rules to make jam and iron on the same day. Too much stress for one woman to bear. Feet up and cup of tea I think - after all you did have to break up a cat fight as well!

Jam photos?????

Cats are endless entertaining aren't they? I think our Tom-Cat is near-sighted - he will growl at his own daughter if he spies her from afar.

Sadie cats are really fun aren't they unless they really get into it and tear each other up! The quilting is sort of like stitching when you make a mistake and keep looking at it and looking at it trying to figure out the mistake and it's normally something really simple. You forgot to say what kind of jam you're making??

Lol I love this. Travis (and your yard, golly!) are just gorgeous! If I showed you my "yard" (courtyard outside the window; we live in an apartment complex) you would be all sympathy! I am contemplating what to do to care for the poor tree(s)!

I need to re-read the bit about quilting; I think I missed the issue but it is just my brain today!

Kudos to Travis for defending the homestead. That most definitely was a UFC!! A big FC!!

You know, no one else would have noticed the eyelets going the wrong way except you, lol! But, if your like me, it would bother me until I ripped it all out and fixed it...

I wish my four cats would defend their territory as well as Travis. There is a big grey cat who comes into our house and eats their food!

Your quilting is beautiful. Love the purples and blues.

Oh, Sadie, I love that block, even though you're having trouble with it. The colors are fab!! Good boy Travis. YD is the same way. This made it very uncomfortable when my friend Rosa visited with her little dog. Six pound Yes Dear terrorized two pound Chewy for the whole visit. Territorial cats!
