Big needles

Well I'm still waiting for the floss I need to continue with my HAED, and I've finished the smalls I was working on too (no pics it's a surprise!) so that left me with the question 'What to do now?'
The answer? Knitting! Now, my knitting skills are barely there so I've started with the simple stuff. I know! So not like me at all. I usually jump right in with a big, complicated piece and get frustrated when I can't do it! Baby steps this time :-)
This is my Baktus scarf. I saw the one Staci had made and loved it.
Please excuse the upside down pic, I think blogger had a brain fart and I can't fix it :-P
I used one skein of Lornas Laces in Mountain Creek. It is so soft and a delight to wear.
Next onto the needles is one row lace scarf. I am knitting this for DD but she doesn't know it :-)

I have to concentrate a bit more with this one but it's still nice and simple.
I already have a list of things to knit next!

I am now past 100 followers! Woo hoo! Thank you all so much. Does this mean I qualify as a cult? LOL

Off now to catch up on blogs and knit some more.

Have a great week,

99 problems

This is where I am on my HAED. Lots of scrumptious colours, and it is so fun to stitch. Slow but fun!
I was missing about 40 (only 40!) colours for this project so I ordered them a couple of weeks ago, they should be here by the end of the week, hopefully! I don't want to move onto a new section of the design until I have this section complete, so it's time for a change until I'm restocked :-)
I have a set of smalls to make for someone so that should keep me busy for the rest of the week.

In other news...... I got 99 followers but a bitch ain't one

Sorry, couldn't resist that :-) Wonder if it will break 100 this week?

UPDATED : Yay, made it into 3 figures for followers :-)

Hope you have a great week

A picture!

I'm back again :-)
Thank you all for the lovely comments you left on my last post, it means a lot to me that you are all so supportive and encouraging of my goals. Thank you x
Last week didn't quite turn out as I had planned it in my head. The kids were supposed to go back to school on Tuesday, it didn't happen. Thanks to a whole load of snow and ice, they only went back on Friday and my plans for a few days of peaceful stitching went out the window. But I bet I burned off quite a few calories running about in the snow! Friday was spent doing the housework the kids, and me, had created with 3 extra days off school.
This week I have been stitching :-) I started this piece on Jan 1st as my new start for the new year. It is for DD.
It's a QS from HAED called 'Bubble Fairy Kitten Face' (I know, what a name!)
I'm stitching 2 over 1 on 25ct white lugana, the stitches are tiny. This is my first HAED and so far so good. I've enlarged the chart quite a bit and I'm marking off as I go with a highlighter pen which is working well for me. This is the only thing I am stitching on at the moment so hopefully I will have some progress to show next week, unless I get sidetracked by something else of course!
Have a great week,
Sadie x

Normal service has resumed

Hello everyone, firstly I'd like to wish you all a happy new year and I hope that your christmas was a good one. We had a lovely christmas filled with family, laughter, noise and good food :-)
This is just a little post to get myself back into the swing of things. I had a complete break from stitching for a few weeks (don't panic it actually felt good to have the time!) but am now back to stitching and I've started a new project :-) Pics and details will follow!
I didn't set any stitching goals for 2009 so I've nothing to report on that front. I did set myself a personal goal though, to stop smoking. And..... I did it! I have now been smoke free for a whole year! YIPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of myself and I am so very lucky to have a wonderful family who cheered me on and supported me all the way.
So, keeping up with the spirit of last year I haven't set any stitching goals for 2010. I have set myself one personal goal though and that is to lose weight. I gained quite a lot of weight last year, partly to do with stopping smoking, (DH said I did a fantastic one woman impression of a plague of locusts on the contents of the fridge!) We'll see how it all works out this time next year :-)
