Spooky happy dance

Yesterday afternoon I put the final stitches into Spooky Row :-)
Here is a picture of the whole piece.

Spooky Row by Bent Creek
28ct tobacco evenweave
DMC floss
And here are closeups to show the details better. All pics are clickable to make them bigger :-)

I really like the skeleton, his wonky eyes are awesome :-) This was my first time with colonial knots, they seem to give a more consistant result than french knots in my opinion, or maybe the problem is with how I do my french knots! Either way, I like colonial knots.
I LOVE the vulture, I think it looks like he is eyeing up the pumpkin for his next meal. Maybe he is a vegan vulture.
Thanks to a very generous loan from Cath, I will soon have Autumn Row to be getting on with :-) The piece of fabric I used for Spooky Row is big enough that I can stitch Autumn Row below it, so I will wait until I have it stitched too and then I will separate them and get them framed :-)
Last night I kitted up several more little halloween designs, so they will be keeping me busy for the rest of the weekend.
The kids are now off school for two weeks so they will be keeping me busy too!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend,
Sadie x

A well deserved Happy Dance. That is one awesome Halloween alphabet. I agree with you. That vulture does look like he is eyeing his next meal.

Congratulations on a very cute finish. I agree the vulture could be eyeing up the pumpkin for its next meal. Can't wait to see what you stitch next.

This looks fabulous Sadie, are you going to frame it? My favourite character is the pumpkin next to the 'T'.
I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to French knots, I use beads instead! I just can't master the knack! I must try colonial knots, I bet there's a description of how to do them in JCS.

It's wonderful! Each detail is unique and interesting, and it looks like it was lots of fun to stitch. Nice job!

Enjoy your two weeks with the kids, up here it's not as long as two whole weeks.

Just great!!! I think the pumpkin with the crazy eyes is my favorite character from this.

My french knots always seem to get loosey-goosey after awhile so I only colonial knots though - they are more secure for me. (Darned if I have to go look up a video on how to do them every_single_time_though! I can't get that info in my head for NOTHING. lol)
