I do all my own stunts

First up, I have some stitchy pics to share :-)
The pillow I stitched for Sheril for the HoE ABC exchange has arrived safely with her :-)
The design is by Prairie Schooler, stitched on 28ct evenweave in a mystery colour with the called for DMC floss.
I also received my part of the exchange this week too. Stitching for me was Annette and here is a pic of the beautiful pin pillow and matching scissor fob she sent me. Thank you very much Annette, I love them :-)

The fob is personalised with Annettes initials and the year on one side and my initials on the other. As you can see from the above picture, Travis the cat decided that he had better come and inspect what was going on (that's the back of his head in the bottom right corner of the picture)

I finished the stitching on L*K Valentine Flip It.

Stitched on 32ct white linen, with a mixture of CC and WDW floss. I didn't have all the called for colours so I just picked out similar ones from my stash. I think this will go into the finishing pile and will be saved for Valentines day next year.
I also finished the stitching on L*K Spring Fab Fob. I'm not 100% decided on how to finish this yet but I am leaning towards a floss tag as I don't have one. It will be quite big but I think it will be okay.

Stitched on 28ct, hand dyed by me, evenweave using the called for CC and DMC floss. The fabric is actually a much brighter IRL.
Now, a cautionary tale! If you are going to attempt to dye your own fabric, please wear gloves.
If you don't then this could happen to you.

Remember folks, I do the stupid stuff so you don't have to I'm a trained professional :-)
Thankfully my hand has now returned to its normal colour, after several days and lots of scrubbing.

Well school finishes for the summer on Thursday and we are packing up the wagon to hit the road for a few days :-) Can't wait!

Have a great week,

Sadie x

Like the LK stuff, I'll leave the dying of fabric to you, don't want my hands turning any color at all.

Too funny - thanks for the dying fabric tip - lol
Your pillow finish is wonderful :)

Love your finishes Sadie! I know what you mean about the gloves when dyeing...although I was dyeing my hair not fabric! I had a christening to attend and I had brown hands and nails! What was I thinking? My hands were red raw from being scrubbed! Lesson learned...

Yeah, those proteins in nails and skin LOVE dye! I wear nyplex gloves and use tongs, lol!

Speaking of love, what a great exchange! I can decide what I like better--what you stitched or what you received! Were those the charted fibers you used on that PS?

Great pics of your finishes!!!
so sorry about the hands though. I usually dye with coffee (I almost wrote die with coffee LOL)
anyway and what in the world did you use? Was it Walnut stain? I just wondered because I haven't ventured into staining with anything but coffee yet.
Soon will try tea though.....

All of your stitchy goodies, both made by you and rec'd, look fantastic.

I promise I will follow the professional's advice and wear gloves when dying my own fabric, lol!

LOL, yes Sadie... always wear gloves. :) Us trained professionals know that. ;)

Your stitching and exchanges are really nice.

Nice fingers, lol ;) I'm often in such a hurry that my fingertips end up rather colorful too, lol!

Nice stitching! Good dye job--looks like gloves would be a good idea. :)

Sadie you sent out a beautiful exchange... the one you received on the other hand, I think I would of been a little disappointed if you compare the amount of work you put into yours.

Congrats on you LK finishes!

Cute little finishes. I often sub out colors I don't have. The Weeks and CC are so much more expensive than the Carries, or the threads I get off Ebay that are gorgeous!
