Framed

I found the perfect frame for BBD 'Their Song' whilst I was shopping this morning. The frame was only £6, bargain! I finished this last September, so it's about time it was framed :-)

It was kinda hard to get decent pictures. It's really sunny here today so lots of glare. Don't forget you can click on the pics to GO LARGE :-)

I'm super chuffed :-) This is the biggest piece I have framed myself. It took me about an hour to get it all laced properly onto the mount board and you know I didn't swear once ;-D
I want to hang this in the living room but only after we get rid of the horrible 70's wallpaper, that might not happen for a few months so for now it is sitting on the windowsill. Don't worry, it's not in the sun.

I really haven't been doing very much stitching lately, too busy with kids on holiday, friends visiting, cake eating and gardening. I started this about 3 weeks ago, it's a BBD freebie. I'm stitching it with HDF silk floss BeGrimed on 32ct linen called 'Enchantment' from Silkweaver.

I have a few little birthday stitches coming up and a couple of exchanges too and DH's grandma has asked me to make her some more bookmarks, she gives them as presents to her friends and she likes them as they are easy to slip in an envelope with a card or letter. So, looks like I will be a busy little stitcher for the rest of April. I had fun yesterday spending some of my birthday money on stitchy stash. I got some fantastic bargains :-) Hopefully there will be pics next week, if I don't get arrested for harassing the postman ;-O

It was interesting to read all the responses to the post I wrote here , as well as the comments left on that post I also received several emails. It seems that many have had similar things happen, which is a shame, it takes so little time to write a simple email saying thank you. It would be sad though, if anyone let one bad experience put them off ever participating in a swap or exchange again. Because for the vast majority of the time everything goes smoothly. Following my post I did received an email from the person I sent to, thanking me for the pillow. I am happy that she liked it and that she took the time to reply and I think we can draw a line under it now.

This year my daughter Caitlin and I are taking part in Race for Life. This is a yearly fundraising event held by Cancer Research UK at venues all over the UK. We are taking part in the 5k event held in Edinburgh on June 13th. You can find out more here and if you are able, you can sponsor us here. Thank you.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend,

Sadie x

Sadie, your new start looks fantastic, and I LOVE "Their Song". :) What a great find, and the framing looks professional so I'd say you did a fantastic job!

Did you put a layer of Batting in before lacing it up?

Good luck on your charity race; sorry I can't help out right now!

Their Song looks wonderful all framed up!! Glad you got a reply about the pinpillow. It was really pretty. I think I have a time or two where I haven't sent a personal email thanking someone for their efforts due to them not including their email address for me to do so. BUT I have always thanked them when posting on the proper board, so I think that should suffice. We have the runs for cancer research here too. Localy we call them Relay for Life. Good luck to you and Caitlin!!

Oh good grief Sadie!! I should have said that we have those races not 'the runs'. That sounded so bad!! LOL. I think my face is probably a nice shade of red from embarrassment! LOL

Glad you got the exchange sorted out. You're right, manners cost nothing.

Good luck to you & DD in the race.

Great framing Sadie, love the colours in your wip too!

Good luck in the race for life, I did it a few years ago at Strathclyde park. It was a very emotional event.

Wow Sadie, beautiful finish! Where does everybody keep finding bargains?! Yesterday I 'had' to pay £40 for a frame for Bent Creek's 'Wedding Row'. I always seem to stitch pieces with awkward dimensions! And when I choose a frame I always get *sharp intake of breath* 'Oooohhh, you've chosen an expensive frame there love'!!!
