Bookmarks

My husbands Grandma asked me if I could make her a couple of bookmarks that she could give to friends as Christmas presents. I am very lucky to have a family that appreciate my hobby and are so supportive. Of course I said yes!

Finish and Fire

I finished this a couple of weeks ago. Then it was nearly a week before I got round to taking some pictures. And then nearly another week before I got round to posting them!

So, just because I haven't posted doesn't mean that I haven't been busy stitching! I have stitched 5 christmas ornaments since I last posted and have made a (small) start on a 6th. They are all for exchanges so no pics for a few weeks yet :-( I'm going to have a finishing frenzy of a day on Monday and get them all in the post on Tuesday. That's the plan anyway!

Today is my SILs birthday. Happy Birthday Samantha! I took a break from ornament stitching to make her a few gifts. i gave her a jar of plum and cinnamon jam (see previous post), a bottle of yummy chocolate syrup (Sharlotte has the recipe here), a tiny cross stitched fob with her initial on, a hand knit (by me!) cotton facecloth and a bar of soap. I didn't make the soap.

It's my other SILs birthday next week, and my BILs too. Busy, busy, busy!

Travis has decided to start acting even more like a dog than he does already, and has taken to lying in front of the fire. The noise of the camera when I took the first pic disturbed him, so he wanted to see what the hell I was up to!
In true cat style though, he looked at me, blinked, and then rolled back and fell asleep. I guess he is still a cat after all!

I hope you all have a great weekend,

Got jam?

Breakfast for me = strong black coffee with two slices of toast with homemade plum & cinnamon jam. I wait until the children are off to school and then I can relax and eat in peace and quiet. The plate belonged to my Gran and is my breakfast favourite.
But look! There's only a teeny tiny little bit left :-(
No problem I made more :-)
I was lucky enought to get a picture with the morning sun lighting up the jars. So pretty.

We had a wonderful, busy weekend. The children dressed up and went Guising on Saturday night. Thankfully the rain held off and they had a wonderful time. It seemed a little quieter than previous years but we still gave out around 50 bags of goodies to those who came a knocking at our house.

I'll be back later with stitchy pics :-)

Hope you had a spooktacular weekend,

Sadie x
