Ornaments

I have sent out six christmas ornaments in the past two weeks. Three have made it to their new homes, hopefully the other three will arrive this week, here are the pics :-)
'Old World Santas' by Prairie Schooler
28ct natural linen
Called for DMC
Backed with brown felt
Green ribbbon hanger
Stitched for Kay
I really love these PS Santas, and see me stitching them for myself at some point!
'Christmas Cheer' by Lizzie*Kate
26ct parchment evenweave
my choice of SSS, WDW & CC
Backed with red felt
green ribbon hanger & gingerbread man charm
Stitched for Claire

'Holly & Berries' by LHN
26ct parchment evenweave
Called for DMC floss
Home made cording made with DMC floss
Green ribbon hanger
Backed with co-ordinating cotton fabric
Stitched for Sharlotte

I have received some ornaments too but it is too late to take pics just now so they will come later in the week :-)

Today we put up our christmas tree. It looks beautiful, and thankfully the lights still work! Does anyone else get a little nervous when it comes time to test the lights? I do! I think it is because one year I didn't test them until AFTER they were on the tree and it was fully decorated. I went for the grand switch on and.....nothing! OMG was I cross!

Now I test BEFORE they go on the tree, but I still have butterflies.

The kids are off for a few days here and DH is off for the whole week. DH and DS are planning on going fishing tomorrow so I think a stitchy/crafty/bake-y day is on the cards for me and DD.

Stitching and mince pies! Perfect!

I hope you have a great week,

Sadie x

Your ornies are very pretty. I know the recipients must appreciate them very much. I can't wait to get our christmas tree. Hopefully this weekend. I like getting it as early as possible because growing up my Mom refused to let us put up any decorations until after my birthday, the 10th. I hated it. I want christmas decorations up all year long, lol!!

Lovely stitching and finishing as usual Sadie!

I know what you mean about the lights. They ALWAYS make me nervous even if they are working when we put them on the tree. I'm afraid that they'll short out and cause a fire! I need to be more positive I guess. This morning I was putting up the kitchen tree and only half the lights worked. I went ahead and put them on as it's a small tree and I just added the half that worked! LOL! For all of those reading...I recieved one of the ornaments that dear Sadie made.I have it smack dab in the middle of the front of the tree! Definately a favorite of mine!!

Where to you get your SSS? I got some once but have never found them again.

Your ornaments are lovely! I know exactly what you mean about the Christmas tree lights. Last year we had one set that didn't work about a week after the tree was up! Enjoy your stitchy-crafty-bake-y day. That's something I need to be doing soon.

I love your finished ornaments, Sadie--it must have been hard to give them up!

Christmas lights, oh brother...we had quite a time putting up the lights on our porch garland this weekend. One strand still refuses to work so I'm off to the store today to purchase more :)

Your ornies are beautiful! Especially that PS Santa.

The bookmarks for your Gma are lovely. How sweet of you to do that for her.

I, too, get a little nervous about the lights. Had to replace 2 strands this year before they went on the tree. However, a few days after I had them all up, half of one of the strands quit working. UGH!!! Too late now!

What beautiful ornaments! Great job. :) I love those PS santas--I have visions(delusions) of stitching a ton of them and having a tree with just santas on it. Enjoy your time with the kids!

Your ornaments are great! Do you have a tutorial or can you explain how you finished the first two that are backed by felt? That looks like a quick and easy finishing method I'd like to try. Thanks.
