What a week it has been! Busy, busy, busy.
DD Caitlin and I did make some mince pies, and here is a pic.

There are only three left now! Very nice indeed.
I started and finished the first of the LHN ornament series, 'Fa La La'.

Stitched with the called for DMc floss on a piece of 'mystery' 26ct evenweave. I left off the beads and the backstitched line at the top, not to my taste. I have a couple of different ideas on what to do with this piece and the ones that go with it so I am going to hold off on the finishing until I make up my mind.

Here is a pic of the ornament I received for the private exchanges I organised. Aren't they great!

They are from (l-r) Claire, Sharlotte and Kay. Love them, thank you ladies :-)
Progress so far on 'Peppermint Lane' by CCN.

Not much yet as I stopped to stitch the LHN ornament :-) I'm using the called for CC and DMC floss and it is being stitched on 32ct sandstone linen. Stitching the green door made me think of Anna's front door over at
Stitch Bitch.
Lastly I received some lovely goodies in the mail.

These are
HDF silks from Vikki Clayton. Aren't they beautiful! I will be playing with them for the rest of day and maybe even doing a little stitching with them too :-) BTW Vikki also does amazing linen, the silks are sitting on top of a piece of 32ct called 'Creme Brulee'. Yummy!
Well better get going, DH is champing at the bit to get onto the computer :-)
Hope you have a great weekend,
Sadie x

Sadie, your caroling ornie is adorable. Can't wait to see the rest of this series come to life. Great exchange ornies. They will all be wonderful additions to your x-mas tree. Peppermint Lane is coming along nicely. The silks look very inviting. Have a great weekend. I'll be Christmas Tree Hunting.
Great pic of you & your daughter, Sadie! I have yet to try a mince pie, though I've had plenty of opportunities. I suppose I can't get my mind around the 'mince' part of it!! LOL Your ornaments, both stitched & received, are beautiful, as is Peppermint Lane. Great new stash, too!
Enjoy your weekend. :)
I love how Peppermint Lane is turning out! So cute! I see you've changed your background again, I love it! I was looking at Caitlin's shirt , she is so cute.I love the sweater you are wearing.I miss knitting sweaters for myself but I've gained so much weight I look horrible in them.Fa La La is adorable! I thought about stitching the series but for me I didn't want to comment myself every month. Have a good week!
A beautiful photo of you and your daughter! It is always fun to see photos of the blogger and the blogger's family members :) A great finish and some wonderful exchanges. I am glad that I stopped by for a visit today...would love to have tasted the minced pies :)
Take care!
I love the photo of you and your DD. Great shot.
I also love your LHN ornament. I have mine but haven't had a chance to start it.
Those are adorable ornaments you received. I'm sure they will look great on the tree.
Ornaments you received are lovely, really like the santa one. How fun to bake/cook with your daughter. One day little miss will be old enough. Now she just gets in the way. Sigh.
I really love the fabric hanger on that santa ornie--so cute! You must be lightning to have that fa la la ornment already stitched up. I haven't tried a mince pie either, though I'd love to sometime! You and DD are such an cute pair of ladies! What a great pic in front of the tree!

Your LHN ornament looks so pretty. And also the ones you received are just great, particularly the little snowman stocking. So cute.
Your family picture makes me think of the times when DD still lived at home and we used to bake Christmas cookies together.
Sadie I love what you have stitched so far and look forward to seeing the other LHN ornaments. I love Mince pie!!!! If I made one here I would be the one to eat it but I could sacrifice myself;0) I have a mince cookie recipe somewhere made them years ago and the were really good. Might look it up again and give it a try for this Christmas. Also love the picture of you and your daughter.
Sweet photo of you and your daughter. Love the stitching-lovely finishes!
