Everywhere I look...

I am seeing people posting about how summer is nearly over, well it's not over here, despite the best efforts of the weather (wind and rain!), see!
I received this beautiful pinkeep from Joke for the HOE Summer House exchange, isn't it beautiful and the colours she used are just perfect. The design is a LHN freebie. Joke also included a little chart designed to be stitched with leftovers, it's really cute. Thank you so much Joke. :-)

I stitched this L*K design over the weekend. The kids thought it was hilarious that I was stitching pants! I just need to remember where I put the buttons for the bloomers. You know how it goes, you say to yourself,
' I'll put these little tiny buttons here and then they will be safe and will not get lost. '
and then you go and forget where here is! AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
Well I am sure(?) they will turn up. I stitched this on 28ct white evenweave with a mixture of GAST, SSS, WDW and Crescent Colours. I LOVE the SSS 'Blue Raspberry' used to stitch the pants on the left. Before I get comments, here in Scotland, panties/knickers are called pants and what you call pants we call trousers, just so ya know and don't think I am too dumb!

Last night I finished up this little JBW design. I changed it a little, thinking that I know better, but have to admit that maybe I don't know better! (still think I'm not dumb! I'm doubting it now!) I changed the little pumpkin motif on the right hand side as I didn't think it was clear enough but now I think it is too clear and it looks like a 5 yr old did that bit. Sigh. It will have to come out.
Also stitched on 28ct white evenweave with the suggested WDW Terra Cotta. I used 3 strands over 2, I thought 2 strands looked a little sparse and compared to other WDW in my stash it was definatly on the skinny side, anyone else notice this? Skinnyness aside I loved this colour and liked seeing the design grow as each little motif was finished.
Up next is another L*K, this one is bigger. The chart calls for a lot of buttons but I don't have them and won't be getting them. I really like how L*K charts show what to stitch if you don't have the buttons, a big plus in my book as I will not spend rediculous mounts of money having to order them from overseas. (and have a tendancy to lose them!!!!!!! see above)
Well off now to pull my floss, I love gathering supplies for a new project!
Have a great week, and remember, it IS still summer. As my mum says don't wish your life away, even if it is blowing a gale outside and the rain is horizontal! (okay I added the last bit but you know what I mean)

Adorable pinkeep! Weather-wise, summer isn't close to being over here. But school-wise, there's only 2 weeks of summer vacation left.

Lovely stitching (and I think your pumpkin looks fine!)

I love that pumpkin and the pinkeep too!

Your exchange is great and so is your LK project. And yep your buttons will show up when not expected or looking for them. I think WDW are VERY skinny, that's why I prefer the Carries threads which are thicker AND cheaper. I doubt I will buy WDW threads again.

What a nice summer exchange, Sadie. You could leave the pumpkin and call it uniquely yours! Congrats on all your finishes. Love the colors on the panties/knickers/pants (lol) piece. In general, I think WDW is "skinnier" than other flosses. I don't really care for it.

The summer pinkeep is is beautiful Joke did a fantastic job on this,

I love the LK Big Girl Panties too. :) And you know if you permenantly loose those buttons it looks just fine the way it is. But good luck finding them in their "safe" place. LOL

The pumpkin looks fine to me.

Great stitching all the way around.

You are right - the colors are perfect for on the Summer pinkeep. Love it! Adding it to my list of freebies to find. And your L*K8 piece is adorable. I've already got the pumpkin in my pile of Fall "To Do"s. Yours looks fantastic.

Beautiful exchange from Joke and lovely stitching! And it's going to be hot here through September, so weatherwise it'll still be summer. It's just sad to think of all the playtime ending for those going back to school in the fall.

Wonderful projects! Good for you - taking a design and adapting it the way YOU like it! It took me years and years to learn that I could do that, and I'm much happier with my stitching now.

What an adorable pinkeep. I love those colors on your Lizzie Kate. I know what you mean about putting something in a spot and forgetting where you put it in the first place. I like your pumpkin on the JBW design don't change it. Have a great day!

Summer here isn't over yet, our summer holidays have just started. And no matter what the weather will be like I'm determined to enjoy them.
